Jeffrey Reiss CLU - Bio

Managing Director and Chancellor Jeffrey A. Reiss is a Rotary Special Ambassador for Peace.


A charismatic International speaker on behalf of peace for over 25 years,and an avid world traveler, he has enthusiastically addressed international congresses, Peace conventions and Rotary clubs across Asia and the US, as well as Montessori schools, and many key UNICEF events.

Jeffrey has received numerous acknowledgments and awards, including commendations from UNICEF and many local and state school boards, the Martin Luther King Jr.  Humanitarian Award, and a multiple nomination for the Gandhi Foundation Peace-Keeping Award

The City of Los Angeles awarded Jeffrey its Distinguished Service Peace Medal in acknowledgment of his Rotary actions: "Service Above Self", since 1995.

Jeffrey holds degrees and diplomas from The College of Life Underwriters in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and the Burklyn Business School in Vermont.

He has earned  a Honolulu Community Negotiators Certificate and has completed advanced studies in communication at More University, California and Hawaii; supporting his work as a skilled negotiator and communication therapist.

He is currently receiving education and training in Nonviolent Communication, an approach to conflict resolution and interpersonal communication developed by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, used by the United Nations Peacekeepers.

In 1988, Jeffrey became an official Peace Researcher at the Sparky Matsunaga Institute of Peace at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, a post in which he remains active today. 

The Rotary Peace Communities Project appointed him a Special Peace Ambassador in 1999.  He is also an affiliate of the Mentoring Millions School Project and director of "Building Bridges," a program that links Rotary Clubs through their Sister Cities and Schools, as outlined in the Sister Cities International Education Project.

He recently played an important part in the effort to finally include Peace Poles in the opening ceremonies at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake.
